CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR BED LINEN

Prior to the first use

It is advised to soak colored or printed linen in cold water with some white vinegar during 24 Hours. This process helps to remove the excess of dyes, and will help to preserve the colors in time.

Then wash your linen at 30 °C (warm – 86°F) with regular liquid soap.

Fabrics are finished after printing or dying, thus it is not safe to use them directly. Sharp colors requiring a high concentration of pigments, there are always excess of pigments on the surface. Without prior wash, this excess might be transferred on your mattress or your clothes.

Temperature

Whereas it is indicated that most of our linen can be washed in hot cycle (60°C – 140°F), it is highly advised to use warm cycle (40°C - 104°F - cotton program). It will help to preserve the fibers and the colors intensity, as well as the environment.

Wash soap

It is advised to use liquid soap over powders; as powder are difficult to dissolve in low temperature  water. Powders may leave white marks on the linen.

Do not use whitening powders for colored or printed linen, you may damage them.

Washing

For washing it is usually advised to:

-          Turn your duvet covers and pillowcases inside out in order to preserve their color (especially dark colors).

-          Separate dark from light colors.

-          Do not fill in too much  the washing machine drum.

-          Chlorinating is strictly reserved for white shade linen.

-          Do not leave your linen for too long once the washing program is finished, this will help to avoid wrinkling.

It is always better to wash velvet towels in a full drum and dry them in a tumble-dryer.  This process will help to remove the fluffs created during the shaving process.

Soap

Using a cleaning agent (preferably liquid) dedicated for colored fabrics, helps to preserve the colors of your towels.

Softener

Using a fabric softener and / or a tumble-dryer makes your towels softer and more fluffy.
